First, some honesty

A few things couples
are rarely told.

Thank you so much for inquiring with Meadows at Mossy Creek.

In full transparency, whether you ultimately book with us (which we hope you do) or another venue, we always like to make sure couples understand a few things about wedding planning that many people are never told early on in the process.

Where the money actually goes

A rule of thumb for your budget.

A good general rule of thumb is to try and keep your venue investment somewhere around a quarter to a third of your overall wedding budget. Food and alcohol, if you choose to serve alcohol, will often account for another quarter to a third as well.

Structuring things this way usually leaves at least a third — and sometimes up to half — of your budget available for the other major parts of the day: photography, videography, entertainment, florals, attire, and more.

Of course, every wedding is different and there is no right way to do things. It is your wedding, and you should absolutely prioritize what matters most to you. We simply believe this is helpful information that is not communicated to couples often enough.

Worth understanding early

On “all‑inclusive”
weddings.

Sometimes all-inclusive packages are a great fit and are truly the best option. However, in many cases venues are simply marking up the vendors they partner with in order to package everything together, which can result in couples paying at least 10 to 15 percent more for each individual vendor.

Because of that, Meadows operates as a blank-slate venue. We want couples to have flexibility and control over their experience, rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all package.

If you want a guided experience

When a planner is worth it.

If you are interested in a more guided or all-inclusive style experience, we typically recommend working with one of our preferred planners. Great planners can often help couples save money overall simply because of their experience and knowledge within the industry. They may know that two caterers offer very similar quality, yet one costs 20 percent less than the other.

A planner is still creating a highly customized wedding tailored specifically to what you want, not a copy-and-paste package. And the best part is that they take a tremendous amount of stress, coordination and workload off you throughout the planning process.

If you are a planner reaching out, or already have a planner booked, then you are ahead of the game and can ignore everything we just said.

How our pricing works

The day and the season
set the price.

Our pricing varies based on both the day of the week and the season. Peak fall Saturdays in North Georgia are naturally our highest-demand dates. If that is your dream wedding, we would absolutely love to help make it happen.

If maximizing value matters more, consider off-peak dates, Fridays, Sundays or even weekdays — often a very similar experience at a much lower overall investment.
